Two churches in one churchyard – St Adelwold’s for Alvingham & St Mary’s for North Cockerington – both open at the weekend.
It is the site of a Gilbertine monastery, priory both men & women, established 1148-1154, dedicated to St Mary. St Mary’s Church was originally a chapel belonging to the priory.
Walk through the churchyard to the Louth Navigation Canal.
