St Peter & St Paul is an early Norman Grade 1 listed church. The first service was held in 1205, but there are indications of a much older church. The tower contains a fine peal of eight bells. During WWII Butlins holiday camp in the parish became a naval base, HMS Royal Arthur, where thousands of servicemen were trained. We have a chapel dedicated to HMS Royal Arthur, where the memorials include a stained-glass window. The Norwegian Navy were stationed nearby and have strong links with the church; we have a photographic display about their time in the parish.
