Tathwell, St Vedast |
Built on the highest point in the village, our church commands a view of Tathwell Lake.
Enter through a timber-framed porch to discover an interesting mix of Norman, Georgian and Victorian architecture. Grade II* listed, it houses many fascinating monuments to the Hamby and Chaplin families, who once owned our village and vast acres of Lincolnshire.
The east window commemorates three Chaplin brothers (and includes their weeping mother) and a mid-20 th century window depicts St Vedast and the racehorses bred by another local family. Guide leaflet available.
Opening times 6-7th September
Saturday 10am-6pm
Sunday 10am-6pm
