Thorpe St Peter, St Peter* |
The church of St Peter dates from around 1396 and is built of greenstone and limestone. The architecture is mainly of the Decorated
Style with examples of other periods. Features include the font (one of the best examples of Early English
work in Lincolnshire), the pulpit (a richly carved example of Jacobean work),
and the carved oak Chancel Screen. There is also a modern reredos screen on display. Outside there is evidence that the church was at one time much bigger. The organ by Walkers dates from 1964.
