Sutton on Sea, St Clement* |
Approach the church and note the unusual leaning tower! Pleasant church gardens with, hopefully, a wildflower area this year! St Clement’s tells many stories of the history of the village: a plaque marks the height of the 1953 flood waters and the damage caused; a grave, near the foot of the tower, of a local infantryman killed while serving in Northern Ireland in 1972, aged just 21(visit a bench in his memory in the Meridale garden by the tennis court on Furlongs Road and opposite Broadway car park.)
Opening Times 14-15th September
Saturday 9.30am-5pm
Sunday 9.30am-5pm (service at 10.30am)
Postcode: LN12 2RU
