Ingoldmells, St Peter & St Paul

St Peter & St Paul is an early Norman Grade 1 listed church. The first service was held in 1205, but there are indications of a much older church. The tower contains a fine peal of eight bells. 

During WWII Butlins holiday camp in the parish became a naval base, HMS Royal Arthur, where thousands of servicemen were trained. 

We have a chapel dedicated to HMS Royal Arthur, where the memorials include a stained-glass window. The Norwegian Navy were stationed nearby and have strong links with the church; we have a photographic display about their time in the parish.

Skegness, St Matthew

Grade II listed building, built in 1880s with Ancaster stone. Uniquely placed in centre of a roundabout thanks to the 9th Earl of Scarborough. The Earl donated the land for the church when he laid out his plans for the town. He wanted the church to be the focal point of the town and its spiritual centre. Stained-glass window, located in the south aisle depicting St Francis of Assisi, as well as the altar and riddle posts were designed by Sir Ninian Comper. The organ, built by Rushworth and Draper, is recognised as one of the best in the country.

Skegness, St Clement

Skegness, St Clement

Grade II* listed building. Rebuilt in mid-17th century following the floods of 1526 which washed away the original church. Was the Parish church of Skegness until Victorian times when St Matthew was built.

A rare Breeches Bible is on display in a glass case and above the door you will find a sword set into the

stonework.
