Screened behind trees with a long drive, described in “The King’s England” of 1949 as having an “approach unsurpassed in all Lincolnshire,” leading to the car park. Mid Marsh Carltons comprising Great, Little and Castle Carlton have a long history; catalogued artifacts from CC (back to Neolithic period) on display. Also display covering 21st century discovery of Saxon Island in LC called the Mystery In the Marsh. 10-minute walk to the award-winning graveyard of the now demolished St Edith’s Church, also the location of the Saxon Island. Morning Prayer at 9.30am Sunday. Visitors welcome for service and light refreshments afterwards.
