A stunningly well preserved early Georgian church - now repainted in the original Georgian colour scheme - with outstanding oak panelling, very unusual box pews and a three-decker pulpit in the body of the church. Visited by the renowned lexicographer Samuel Johnson in 1764 when he came to see his young friend Bennet Langton. Johnson famously asked Langton to take his pocket watch before he rolled down the nearby Sheep Walks “as I have not had a roll for some time”.Opening Times: 5-6th September
