Stixwould, St Peter

Stixwould St Peter (church's own photo)
Dating from middle 15th century with many interesting features including pew ends on the south of the nave originating from an earlier church. The expressions on the faces from the old church are mournful, though newer ones more cheerful! Note the lady poking her tongue out on one pew end at the devil on another opposite. The stone coffin lid sited near the pulpit is believed to be the last Abbess of Stixwould Priory.

Opening times:
Saturday 10am–5pm
Sunday 10am–5pm

Postcode: LN10 5HP
