Bratoft, St Peter & st Paul

Bratoft, St Peter & St Paul*

Church was built in 14th century and in a quiet rural setting. Bratoft is the birthplace of the Reverend Thomas Scott, a well-known scholar and commentator on the Bible. Extraordinary and probably unique allegorical painting of the defeat of the Spanish Armada, 5 feet 1 inch high and 6 feet 9 inches wide. Bratoft is the birthplace of John Stockton, Lord Mayor of London in 1470 and 1471. Good examples of poppy head carvings. Plan of graves including some war graves.
