St James Church has been a place of worship for over 600 years. Established in the 14th Century, by Sir John Willoughby. Featuring a beautiful chapel, memorialising the Willoughby family, including Catherine Willoughby, of whom a book was recently published.
With a wonderful organ, having been renovated in the last few years, the church boasts ideal acoustics for live music performances.
Other features include a memorial to explorer Sir John Franklin, discoverer of the North West Sea Passage around Canada.
With stained-glass windows throughout, illustrating the Gospel story, a beautiful font, high altar, we hope you enjoy visiting us.
