The first Lincolnshire #WoldsAndCoastChurches Festival is going to be a great celebration, with 140 churches opening their doors over two weekends: 31st August & 1st September and 7th & 8th September 2019
Hilltop 14th century church commanding wonderful views over the surrounding countryside. Peaceful setting. Carved roof bosses and ten wooden angels complement richly carved poppy head pew ends depicting animals, birds, flora and fauna. Stone effigy of a recumbent knight, thought to represent Henry-de-Halton, from around 1350. Alongside, an ancient burial slab, when translated reads "Here lies Sir Walter de Bec on whose soul may God have mercy", dated around 1250AD.
Open: 31 Aug - 1st Sept
