Hannah cum Hagnaby, St Andrew |
St Andrew’s Church is a Georgian, Grade I listed building
of simple design, incorporating some re-used masonry
which is medieval in origin. The church is surrounded by
arable farmland and sits in an elevated position, which
gives interesting views of the surrounding area. The
interior remains largely unchanged since 1753, including
its original oak-panelled box pews. It has a two-decker
pulpit and an unusual three-sided altar rail extended
in a semi-circle at the front, which is hinged and opens
outwards. Cleverly built into one of the pews is a marble
font.
