Huttoft, St Margaret of Antioch

Huttoft, St Margaret of Antioch

St Margaret’s is a medieval Church in the village of Huttoft. It sits on a high point in the village overlooking the surrounding countryside and salt marshes. The church has links to Sir John Betjeman and the poem “A Lincolnshire Church”.
There are lovely stone carvings wherever you look. The font is simply stunning with its wonderful carvings of the saints and wooden canopy. Highlights are a painted reredos, carved rood screen, old funeral bier, barrel organ that plays a selection of early hymn tunes, stained glass windows, the Great Chair and more.
