Tathwell, St Vedast

Tathwell, St Vedast

Built on the highest point in the village, our church commands a view of Tathwell Lake. Enter through a timber-framed porch to discover an interesting mix of Norman, Georgian and Victorian architecture.  Grade II* listed building houses many fascinating monuments to the Hamby and Chaplin families who once owned our village and vast acres of Lincolnshire. The east window commemorates three Chaplin brothers (and includes their weeping mother) and a mid 20th century window depicts St Vedast and the racehorses bred by another local family. Guide leaflet available. Guided tour of history and architectural features at 2.30pm on both days.

Opening times 2-3 September
